Solstice Holiday Wish List

Tis the season…and everybody will be asking what you’d like for the holidays. Friends and family sometimes need a few hints to make their holiday shopping a little easier. We can help you point them in the right direction with your very own Solstice Outdoors Something Special for the Holidays Wish List. We think it's kind of a fun idea and after all we're never too old to make a wish list for Santa!

Solstice now has your customizable wish list that you can make and keep in the store for anyone who wants to buy you a special gift. To make sure they get the hint, you let us know who may be interested in your list and we’ll send them an email note just to let them know you’ve left some great hints at Solstice about what will make you smile this holiday season.

We've already starting making our lists...so stay tuned for weekly posts to find out what's on our lists!

H.C's Monster Trail Cookies

My neighbor who also happens to be a dairy farmer gave me the recipe for these cookies and they were a huge hit at our Grand Opening. By popular request we’re sharing the recipe for the peanut buttery, chocolaty, coconut goodness! They’re great for the trail, anytime or anywhere. The recipe makes a huge batch so share with a friend or better yet give some to your neighbor.

3 cups peanut butter

1 cup butter

2 ¼ cup brown sugar

2 cup granulated sugar

6 eggs

1 ½ tsp. maple syrup, agave nectar or corn syrup

4 tsp. baking soda

9 cups quick cook oatmeal

8 oz. M & Ms

8 oz. dark chocolate chips

2-4 oz. coconut or raisins

In a very large bowl mix peanut butter, butter and sugar until creamy. Add all ingredients. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Cool slightly before removing from the cookie sheet. Enjoy!

Hint: Even better with milk!

Fresh Paint

Yesterday was a big day! We took advantage of the beautiful spring day to make the corner of 4th & Main Street a little brighter. Solstice Outdoors now has a fresh coat of paint to open for business. The fun part was chatting with all the folks that stopped by to say "hi" and find out when we're opening. In case you missed it, we'll be opening on May 5th. With only a little over a week to go it feels great to finally get the building spruced up. The next up the sign.

The countdown begins...

As a friend told us on Friday we're on the inside of two weeks before you open. With the build out complete it's time to fill the store with merchandise, but until then here's a peak inside

Snow, wind and sawdust...

The lovely northern Wisconsin weather hasn't been cooperating with our work schedule, but despite a couple inches of snow yesterday, cold and blustery conditions we endured mother nature and managed to make plenty of sawdust. Dave got the countertop in yesterday and today we're finishing the dressing rooms, cutting more wood and are thankful for some morning sunshine. The space is really starting to take shape and look more like a store than a construction project! Pictures and more to come...
